MI CASA ES SU CASA

I am so excited to have stylist Christina Symes guest blogging on La Treehouse this week! In her post 'Mi Casa es su Casa' she will be recreating this warm and modern rustic look ready for winter! You can find Christina on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram at @christinasymes. I hope you all enjoy it! - Jessica.

“To call a work of architecture or design beautiful is to recognise it as a rendition of values critical to our flourishing, a transubstantiation of our individual ideals in a material medium.” – The Architecture of Happiness by Alain de Botton

Admittedly, when Jessica asked me to do a guest post I knew it was going to be quite self-indulgent but by sourcing some pieces to recreate the look it works to your advantage also.

I work as a fashion stylist but considering my dad is an architect, my love for design has continuously evolved.

At the moment I can’t get enough of rugs, throws, loads of plants (hanging, potted, and herb gardens), arm chairs, artworks and kitchenware – all the little components that make a house a home.

I strongly believe home is where the heart is: a place of comfort where you can savor in a few hours of freedom and solitude, away from every other chaotic element in your life, and somewhere that is welcoming for guests also - a candlelit dinner with friends beats a night out any day.

Enjoy!

Christina
