I am finally back and settled in from my trip to Sri Lanka. I had the most incredible time, It was great to get away and just relax and not have a worry in the world. One thing i fell in love with while i was away was maps. I saw this one beautiful antique map of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in a guest house i stayed at while i was there (see below) and it got me hunting around for one of my own.

I love old maps, they are so rich in history and culture and there are so many things you can do with them. Whether you frame a map of your favourite city or country you want to visit, or use it as a wallpaper to cover your kids bedroom, they can become a really beautiful and inexpensive artwork.

My dad loves maps. He loves sailing and exloring the places that James cook and Mathew flinders once exlored. I think i got my love of maps from him. One day i would love to turn his favorite maps in to wall paper and cover his office walls in them so he can constantly daydream about all the places there are to explore.
